Hello! My name is Mr. Campana, and I’m excited to teach seventh grade English and Social Studies at Bert Corona. I’m passionate about the humanities, and I’m excited to work with my students to build their knowledge and skills throughout this school year.
A little about me: I grew up in New Jersey. I attended college at the University of Pennsylvania and earned an MFA in writing from New York University. I earned my teaching credential from Cal State University Northridge. I love to read, and I love to write. I also love to draw, and I’m excited to incorporate my passion for the arts into the work we will be doing this year. Finally…I’m a big animal lover! I’m always happy to share photos of my two cats.
What brings me to teaching?
Well, I believe strongly that all students have the ability and the right to succeed academically. No student should be denied the tools to reach his or her potential. And a passionate teacher equips students with the skills to meaningfully engage with his or her world. I want to share with my students my love of the written word; great authors help us learn more about ourselves, and inspire us to live better, fuller lives. Further, through the teaching of history, I hope to grow student’s understanding of the world around them and of their place in it.
I believe that a great teacher can instill in students a love of learning, a thirst for new knowledge, and a passion for self improvement. I look forward to helping my students grow into lifelong learners.
I look forward to a great school year!
