Week 15 (11/14-11/18)

This is the last week before Thanksgiving Break! On Friday, students will be participating in Pop Day.

ENGLISH

In English, we will continue progress into the CASA curriculum. We will be discussing the importance of youth activism, and working to set up a Youth Advisory Board.

The objectives for the week are as follows:

Monday

SWBAT Define the terms: impact, community and identify ways that they have made a difference in their own community

Tuesday

SWBAT identify youth who have been change agents in history and determine what was necessary for each of these youth to be change agents

Wednesday

SWBAT brainstorm group norms,
define team roles and responsibilities, and understand the value in teamwork

Thursday

SWBAT consider what leadership means to them and determine a variety of characteristics, traits, or actions that make someone a leader

Friday

Pop Day

 

SOCIAL STUDIES

We will be discussing traditional art, literature, and social roles in Medieval Japan. We will also be learning about the role of the Samurai and the importance of the Bushido code.

The objectives for the week are as follows:

Monday

SWBAT describe key roles in traditional Japanese society.

Tuesday

SWBAT describe the different characteristics of traditional Japanese literature.

Wednesday

SWBAT describe the role of the Samurai and the key ideas of the bushido code.

Thursday

SWBAT describe characteristics of traditional Japanese art.

Friday
