Week 16 (11/28 – 12/1)

In Social Studies this week, we will be concluding our unit on Japan. In English, we will be working in small groups on expository writing. Friday is a Teacher Professional Development Day.

ENGLISH

Students will be working in small groups to pre-write, write, and rewrite short arugmentative essays. Students will complete a pre-assesment and then break into small groups to work on organization, supporting evidence, and use of academic language.

The objectives for the week are as follows:

SWBAT correctly use textual evidence with supporting reasons.

Tuesday

SWBAT correctly use textual evidence with supporting reasons.

Wednesday

SOCIAL STUDIES

We will be concluding our unit on Japan.  We will be discussing Japanese social classes and reviewing key information from the past two weeks. There will be a unit test next week.

SWBAT review key elements of medieval Japanese society

Tuesday

SWBAT define and describe the difference between Shogun and Samurai, and how they were dependent on each other.

Wednesday

SWBAT describe the significance and rise of classes in Japan

Thursday

SWBAT describe the significance of culture and art of Japan
